If the boiler is not oversized and the dampers and the fan that control the combustion of the wood that control the burn are working properly the boiler should not overheat. Make sure that all boiler doors are tightly closed including the ash door. Too much under flow air will cause the unit to overheat.

You need the end plates for the firebox - two sheets approx. 3' x 3' for a 36: round firebox. You will also need the water jacket (box) - 6 sheets at least 4' x 5'.
